Due gusti prevalenti. Mixtures con Perique in primis, ma anche e soprattutto Burley liscio aromatizzato. Un terzo gusto molto diffuso è il Cavendish o Black Cavendish liscio aromatizzato. Infine un gusto molto americano sono le miscele con Latakia e Perique insieme, spesso aromatizzate. Per gli amanti del Burley liscio naturale o aromatizzato consiglio i seguenti tabacchi: Sir Walter Raleigh (anche in versione Aromatic); Five Brothers; Granger; Velvet (tutti attualmente appartenenti al brand Scandinavian Tobacco Group) a cui aggiungerei Prince Albert e Carter Hall (del brand John Middleton, Inc.).

Oltre alle miscele sopra elencate a base di Burley, miscele di tipico gusto americano sono: Half & Half – Lane Limited Ready Rubbed (il vecchio Edgeworth) – Cherry Blend (Middleton) – Mixture No.79 – Captain Black – Three Star Blue – Crown Achievement. Per quanto riguarda le miscele con Perique i brand che meglio interpretano questa tipologia di gusto sono G.L. Pease e Cornell & Diehl.
